Psychologist, licensed by the State of Michigan since Michigan began licensing psychologists in 1979.

o Five years at a community mental health center in Detroit

o Supervisor to interns and staff at several agencies in the Holland and Grand Haven area

o Currently supervise staff psychologists at Ottawa County CMH and the Hope College Counseling Center as well as here at PSYSERV.

o I love working with kids and families
o I have performed hundreds of evaluations for ADHD, learning problems, and emotional difficulties with both children and adults.
o I most enjoy helping families improve their functioning.
o I love teaching parents how to be better disciplinarians and supporters of their children.
o I also love helping couples solve problems and get their relationships on track.
o Special training in working with sexual dysfunctions and intimacy problems
o I also have worked extensively with people with severe and persistent mental illness, including both mood and thought disorders.

o Brief psychotherapy through a process of identifying how thoughts influence feelings and how changing thought patterns can change
feelings to overcome life problems

o I believe in positive, reinforcement-based change in behavior, whether that reinforcement comes from within the individual or from the environment.
