In his role as a counselor, John will first try to accurately and properly assess the nature of your presenting issues. Then he will engage you in the appropriate treatment modality that addresses your unique issues. For those clients who have endured hardships and heartbreaks, his role will be to assist you to cope, to heal, and to recover. Some clients may require assistance with tough problem-solving, decision-making, and behavioral changes. Still other clients will benefit from cognitive therapy to correct flawed thinking patterns (such as self-esteem, self-confidence, and self-blame problems.) And for those who suffer from disorders of mood, he will provide assistance regarding the option of medication trials, in addition to self-help activities.
